HAWCS saw the opportunity to offer the Utility Sector much more than a simple list of faults. We wanted to deliver unrivaled data, combining established procedures with proven, cutting edge technology.
How It’s Done

• Feeder data from GIS system provided by the Utility is uploaded to the in-cockpit GPS Moving Map.

• Terrain features, conflicting lines and “No Fly Zones” are loaded and reviewed.
• Flight plans are designed to fly the lines accurately, minimizing off-line flight while ensuring no sections are missed.

• HAWCS trained observers capture any defects on structures or lines and inspect earth wires and conductors.

• These images can be zoomed extensively, allowing for detailed evaluation of assets and any possible faults.

• We work in conjunction with the Utilities own GIS Department to give greatest compatibility and ease of access.
